In contrary, you way be proud of yourself if you will be using the used literature. It shows that you have the correct attitude to then finances and you have all the premises in order to become rich in future, as it is already known to everybody that rich people will never spend some extra penny. If they have an opportunity to save money they will save it.

After that I recommend you not to send great money on the stationary. It is useless. There is not any difference whether you are going to write in the exercise book, which will cost $1 or $10. The level of your education and your IQ will not be changed because of the expensive exercise book.

It Is High Time to Start Acting like a Wise Adult

posted on August 7th, 2008 ·

When you are going to the college for the first time, you are overfilled with the emotions; it is understandable, it is always very exciting to stand before the beginning of the new period in life. And the college, it is a real beginning not only of the new life, but also of the new way of life.

Enrolling college means the end of the childhood. When you become a student, you are not a child anymore, you are an adult person, who has to be answerable or all the deeds he or she makes.

Enrolling  a college means the end of the life under the parents’ wings. You stop  living with them and you are the only one to take care about yourself, only you are responsible for your health, and for your life in whole.

When you become a student, you have to understand that all the children’s excuses as - I am sorry I am late, as I failed to get up in time - are not considered to be excuses at all. They just irritate and show that you are still not able to lead an adult life.

If you have decided to become a student, it is a high time to start acting like a wise adult.

A Story Behind Student-Faculty Ratios

posted on November 26th, 2007 ·

A number of colleges are especially proud of the student-faculty ratios. So, they employ this as a keystone of the pitch to students. And these numbers, nevertheless, can be extremely misleading.

I’ll cast some light on where colleges get their numbers in addition to what this means to potential students. Despite those student-faculty ratios offered to you, be ready to do some additional research to fully comprehend the learning surroundings at a future college.

Student-faculty ratios actually have almost nothing to do with real class. Some schools imply that low ratios are smaller classes and mean more personal concentration from professors. So, this can be the case, however a low ratio can’t guarantee more individual work with your professors.

The ratio just compares how many students enrolled and how many teachers employed. Take into account not all professors spend the same amounts of time inside the classroom.

So, here’s an instance. Let’s take a pair of fictional schools, for example, Tech A. and College State. So, Tech A has 10,000 students plus 1,000 faculty members. And College State has about 1,000 students plus 100 faculty members. And both schools have a 10:1 their student-faculty ratio. Nevertheless, the learning surroundings at both schools could be very much different. One of them is considerably larger than another one.

The ratio doesn’t provide you with information on the subject of how classes are actually taught or organized. So, at numerous schools, entry level classes are as a rule large lectures, despite advertised ratios. But upper level courses are usually smaller. Besides, actual class size can also vary very much within different areas at a school. However, a very popular and broad major can have larger classes. Moreover, one class could be big and small. Thus, your Western Civilizations course may contain a lecture time with some hundred students, as well as a discussion time with just 15 others.

College Professor Makes Known Top Biggest Mistakes Every College Student Makes

posted on November 26th, 2007 ·

As a former Assistant Professor, I noted that even the savvy college students would sometimes make these big mistakes.

When I created my first book in order to guide undergraduates through the way from orientation and to graduation, so, “College Success Your Way: What Your Professors Won’t Tell You and Your Friends Don’t Know,” and I knew just one way well-meaning college students would see the inside scoop about what was in fact expected, was if such insider like me, namely, a former college teacher and academic advisor, informed them.

Thus here you are, some of the greatest mistakes even savvy and well-meaning college students can make.

Putting such “forbidden questions” as By what time is it due? And Is this testable? Or Did I miss important thing when I  were absent last class? They usually make you look like a fresh, or some person who should know a bit better but actually doesn’t.

Not consulting the syllabus Professors put much time and attention in to these, and you can as a minimum read them and find out what’s expected from you.

Making excuses rather than taking responsibility extremely high school, but you left it behind long ago.

Attempting to cope on charm rather than merit Never try to become the teacher’s favorite. Not just does it irritate teachers, it irritates your fellow classmates, as well.

Turning homework in late can send all the erroneous messages. Since you have the amount of time as anybody else. Get it completed and hand your assignment in on time. Remember, no excuses.

Popping in during office hours with no appointment A lot of profs prefer to plan people thus they know what they should expect and can manage their time better. Remember, no surprises.
